I have been consulting doctors and practitioners for over a decade now. I am practicing biochemical data mining, diving deep into the sea of every patient’s diagnostic clues.
Analytic thought, biochemistry and extended use of storytelling are the main ingredients of my work.
Most of these patients belong to the fields of gastroenterology, pediatrics (mostly autism), autoimmunity and several rare infectious and neurological cases. In process of publishing two books.
"One man's trash is another man's treasure". This is true when finding the root cause of a disease. If all the biochemical, clinical and lifestyle data of a patient are written down on a paper they seem unrealted and worthless... literally trash. However, with proper analysis and prioritization along with the help of extensive databases any 'sea' of biochemical trash can be finetuned and turned into treasure. And in fact, each patient has his own treasure hidden in the sea of his clinical data
In the beginning it was just 1 case every week. Then it became 10 cases every month. 3 years after I begun consulting MD's I was evaluating almost 3 cases every day. And while I've been renewing my biochemistry and physiology background almost daily and I have access to multiple databases, the most difficult cases have been solved due to the experience of over 4000 case during the past 16 years of practicing.
Biochemistry, physiology and genetics are the main disciplines I use. All the data that can be gathered within a 2-hour session are filtered and categorized through these lenses. Nevertheless, all files of health sciences contribute to the final outcome when using Biochemistry Data Mining
No matter how well one knows his topic of discussion, no matter how confident one is that he knows the reason behind a patient's symptom and no matter how many years of experience or how much knowledge he has accumulated in his field of science, if he cannot explain it in simple words, the treatment will probably fail. Every patient needs to fully understand what is going on in his body, and he needs to hear it in his own reality
